Of course but then how am I to appreciate everyone's work? I have no background on any of the characters used in the posted stories so far... Besides tomb raider which gives me vague ideas - if it's based on the video game, which I played back when I was 12 an it was a lump of pixels.
I tried to make my story accessible but the MC uses complex magic, if people haven't read the work it might be confusing.
Sorry I'm only being grumpy with the theme.
Yeah, the
Tomb Raider franchise has come a long way since the first game on PC, back in the day. After the franchise published a couple of poor quality games and dried up, Square Enix got the license and rebooted it in a totally awesome way, by showing us Lara's first real adventure and then building her up into a more experienced adventurer from there. Kind of like a
Young Indiana Jones thing, but with an early 20s Lara at the start of her character arc.
I'm a huge fan of the rebooted games, both the first one (simply titled
Tomb Raider) and the more recent sequel,
Rise of the Tomb Raider. Squeenix simultaneously did a good job of making the character fresh and interesting, as well as more "human" than the prior, established version. Much of this is due to the excellent writing team led by Rhianna Pratchet ... I was just reading an article about her here, as well as the increasingly common integration of professional writers in game development.
