...now I'm going to have to re-watch Fight Club. It's been years  :P HP definitely has a breadth of popularity far and above most series. I think a lot of series have rich worlds, but they're not as widely explored in some cases. Really wish ROTE had been an option, there's so much potential there.

Finding writing fanfic very difficult. Neither of us ever really liked it, so maybe that's holding us back... not sure we'll get anything done on time  :-\

It would have been nice to have Robin Hobb available as one of the choices for this month's contest. It was a bit too male-centered, unfortunately.

That would have been a great post in the beginning of February...

But the lone female option got the most entries so far, so there is that. ;)

Wondering whether it's necessary to put a spoiler warning when we post our story, or whether it's assumed that no-one would read the story unless they have already read the books... is it worth bothering? I think ours would be pretty incomprehensible if you haven't read the full (Mistborn) trilogy, and would potentially spoil events in the second book...  :-\

I think you don't have to do a spoiler warning. Even if the reader isn't familiar with the books, he never knows where you are off canon and where not.
So when he finally reads the real book, he may realize where you took real events and where not.

@ArcaneArtsVelho , it's great to have another Tolkien channeler! I was feeling a bit lonely among the Harry & Jorg devotees.

Didn't Jorg only get 1 and a half stories? I kind of feel sorry for the concepts that weren't expanded upon, but I had already done a The Lies of Locke Lamora one for an earlier fanfic challenge.
I will expand your TBR pile.

Two and a half Jorgs, I think.

I must have miscounted! I had it at one and a half jorgs, with the half being mine - always hoping for a bonus points with a fanfic mashup.
