Title: [Dec 2018] - Unwanted Gifts - Voting Thread
Post by: ScarletBea on January 02, 2019, 04:26:07 PM
It's time to vote on the December Writing Contest: "Unwanted Gifts"

This time we got 7 entries - thanks to all who participated.

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your two favourite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)

Read them all. All interesting; three particularly engaging for me.
I know one of my votes, but not quite sure about the other. I really want three votes.  >:(

Convince more people to enter stories. :)

Voted. Not easy to choose only 2 from since there was probably the biggest disparity in terms of story types I've read in one contest so far. Interesting how these things pan out  :)

Voted. Just like @JMack I have a preference for three of the entries, and had a hard time narrowing it down to two.

Thank you to all who participated. Fascinating to see how diverse the stories are this month.

Thanks @xiagan for getting my story out there. It's a shame I couldn't submit it in time for the contest, but I still hope you guys will enjoy it.

Already done  :)

I tend to forget how much I enjoy reading the contest entries when I haven't been here for a while.
Well done everyone  :D

Voted!
Chose my 2, but there were 2 others I could also have chosen, really enjoyed them :)

At the moment there are 2 stories tied in first place, with a couple more just behind - anything can happen!

Voted, though it was a hard choice- I really liked four, all very different.

Voted.  As ever, really good contributions from everyone and a broad spectrum of approaches.

1.5 days left to vote, and we still have the same tie in first place (now with more votes)!
13 people have voted

To be honest, I hope it remains, because they're my 2 favourites and I couldn't really choose between the 2, hehe

Nearly missed this. For some reason thought it was still the 31st. Nevertheless, my vote is now in.

Congrats @JMack, you did it again ;D

I loved your dialogue-only story!
I also voted for @Carter, another super interesting story.

I could have used a couple more votes, to be honest, so many great stories :D

Congrats, Jmack! This was super close and tied (with Carter) for most of the time.

@Slaykomimi: Your writing improved a lot in comparison to your first stories. Awesome job! I may have voted for it if I had understood the ending.

Gosh, I am tickled. I really enjoyed this story. I’ll have tell Mrs. JMack her notion paid off  (She was the application of the vampire science to this month’s theme.)

I voted for @Carter and @Alex Hormann. I was soooooo close to voting for @Slaykomimi story. It was really tempting, but Bwca was a nasty fun story and just nosed ahead. Thanks, everyone for votes and for your stories!

Congratulations @JMack.  Really enjoyed your story again this month and well deserved.

My votes went to @Slaykomimi - as JMack says it showed lot of improvement and I agree about the ending - and @Alex Hormann - it managed to hit some of the thoughts I had at the beginning of the month.  Really enjoyed every story again as well this month.

Thanks to all who voted for me too.  With the amount I wanted to play around with tense, it's good to know some of it must have paid off!

Well done @JMack! I really liked your story even though I ended up voting for @Carter and @Jake Baelish.

@Carter's submission was actually my favorite. Great premise, vivid details, and beautiful prose.

Pretty tough choice this month as I enjoyed all the pieces and they were all so different from one another.

Congrats @JMack

I was so surprised at how dark this prompt was taken by most  :o

I really enjoyed @Alex Hormann 's twisted story, and also the kind of gruesome offering by @Cell18

PS: Thanks for the vote @ShadowKnight

Congratulations @JMack and Mrs JMack, that was intriguing and I had no idea where it was headed at first, well done certainly got my vote.
@Carter you easily got my vote as well, great story with sneaky Dylan Thomas and Oscar Wilde hints. Very  well done

But thank you to all, I enjoyed them very much. :)

Thanks for all the great stories, congratulations to @JMack

I voted for @Cell18 for the nice twist and @Alex Hormann because it was SO CUTE.

Thank You all for the feedback but I still think I need to learn very much compared to the other writers here.

Thanks for all the votes, and congrats to @JMack (You got my vote)

High quality of stories as ever, really shown by how close some of the fights were.
