OK, I've posted. I had some fun with this one in a physicist-meets-fantasist kind of way.

Those who share a high school fondness for physics may enjoy spotting some very shallowly buried references.

(No Dragon erotica, or undead wyrms here though!)

Good luck to everyone else with their submissions.

Fantastic short @TOMunro!

kk.  i've got my idea.  it kind of clumped together, a chunk at a time, layering in all the goodness.

assuming, i can actually execute on the idea.

My story is also written in outline form. The challenge will be seeing if I can fit into 1500 words.

Lordoftheword[/member]]@Lordoftheword thank you.  I'm glad you liked it. I started by trying to write the story of Alba and shed A, but realised there was no way I could get that one down to the 1500 word limit, so I took the idea in this direction instead.

I'm sure it will be a great month - possibly a record.

Like the spinning dragon, can someone put me out of my misery and explain

How do I "mention" people in a message?

typing @Lanko just doesn't seem to work

using the ftp brackets looks fine in preview but seems to go wrong after that.

@TOMunro , the @ sign followed by name does work. In fact, your post does refer to Lanko.

Actually @m3mnoch the new tagging system displays a little popup if you type @ and then the first couple of letters of the user's name, so you can be sure you've got it right by doing that!  :P

oh, totes.  so, that's better, for sure.  but it still doesn't show up in the preview.

which, after displaying correctly in the dropdown, always makes me nervous it's actually working.  basically "confirmation!" in composition, followed by a "just kidding!" when you preview, followed by a "psych!!  it worked!" after you finally post.

I'm getting slowly bored with my idea for this month. I guess that indeed there is not enough drama in it. It's like nice ideas with gentle overall plots can't stay interesting long enough for me to write them.  >:(

No no, actions are easy to come up with. I mean inner drama. That ends badly one way or another. Some stakes. Mean stakes. I don't have any right now. I'm not feeling inspired by my Dragon Vet.

Enter dragon erectile dysfunction. How's that for stakes.
