Phew, just managed to squeeze in at the very last minute. It has been a long time since I wrote, but I really wanted to pick things up again for this month's contest. Thanks to @ScarletBea for being so insistent with me, and for really motivating me to "pick up the pen again".  ;)

Feels like I need to exercise the writing muscle a lot. It wasn't easy to squeeze such a short, short story out, but at least I forced myself to do it  ;D

Exact same feeling here. Stopping only 2 months was a bigger mistake than I thought, and not too happy with my production, but very glad I went and wrote it anyway.
I also feel I have not been exercising my writing muscle enough. It's hard to do so when you feel like you're only spewing mediocre lines.

I'm happy with the contest finishing late, so long as we get the new one in due time! :P

No problem, I can keep the thread open still today :)
And yay for lots of stories, from oldies newbies ;D 16 so far!!

Yay @Saraband! Sometimes I thought I was being too annoying with you, but I just felt you were wasting your talent :D

For you and Nora, and others too I bet, this article that Peat posted seems very appropriate: http://fantasy-faction.com/forum/writers-corner/the-'its-all-right'-blog-post-of-the-day/

And I think @xiagan's busy, no idea about Sep's contest theme yet ;)

Sorry, Linus has been ill and we are going to Sweden for two weeks on Saturday, so there wasn't the time I needed. Will try to post it in ten hours, when I'm back from work!

So lets say hypothetically some insomniac wrote 216 words of prose at 3am in the limbo between writing contests.  It's too short to submit.  What does the hypothetical insomniac do with said prose?

Put random linebreaks into the prose so that it no longer has paragraphs and drifts down the page with a ragged right edge.

It's now a poem.  ;D

we have two pages of stories, everyone!  did you see that?

soon, we're going to be back to the days when the submissions totaled the size of a novella!

Look what you have done by moving the deadline! You made me write some crappy poem/song! Shame on everyone involved!  >:(
 :P

Anyway. Thanks for the story ideas.  :)   Though, I don't think I used any of them.  ::)

@ArcaneArtsVelho: OMG.  :o ;D ;D ;D
Is that a good or bad OMG?  :D
Everything I wrote above is pure conjecture. I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm a perfectionist but not very good at anything. That's why I rarely finish things.

Holy crap that's a lot of submissions this month!

I'm totally taking the credit thanks to my rare moments of mad tweeting for spurring this.  ;D 8) ;D

Also just editing my story I realised its more of a 'poison' story than a potion. But poison is a potion right? Technically. :(
