I wrote most of it, but I'm on a May 1 deadline for 3 grant applications so that extra time is going to make a difference.

I've finished a first draft, so at least you'll have 2 this month!

Gotta say, it's been a struggle, and really not as happy with this as I hoped I'd be. I don't know if it's just because I'm in a general funk, or the theme is interfering with my plans, or what, but meh. It's at 1468 words atm, so it just needs to be tidied up. I should be able to get it in before the end of month deadline, but may still keep it over till the 6th in case any last minute inspiration kicks in.

I've been totally out of the loop. The story is there but I've been keen on other stuff, and now that I know I'm moving flat, I'll have no time at all until I'm well and settled. If we didn't have that extended period, i would probably not be able to submit anything at all.

I'm currently neck-deep in dissertation, but I've managed to squeeze out a short poem. My apologies for butchering grammar.  ;)

Planning to send completed story tonight... in some shape or another!

Hey @JMack and others, not sure if you noticed earlier but I'm on holidays abroad and I'm only closing the contest on Saturday - so still some days to submit/review :)

So I spent the better half of last week finishing my story, re-read it yesterday, concluded it was a piece of shit, and scrapped it.

Managed to rewrite something today. It looks better, but still... I dunno. I seem to be in a crisis of confidence as of late. Gonna re-read and tidy it up tomorrow and should hopefully be able to submit.

Okay, I'm in at just under 1500 words. An improvement over the original for sure, but I dunno. Really not feeling it as of late. Been a bit of a crappy month.
