Hah, didn't realise the timing - we'll be off to pick up the Wheel of Time in 30 minutes or so, so we'll miss all the fun!  :(

Still 1 hour to go...

And by the way, @xiagan: if you make the results come around 1-2pm UK time, then I think that everyone in the key time zones will be awake (US, Europe and Australia).
And Nora will be happy ;D

That's when we set up meetings with US/UK/China/India people at work, at UK lunchtime.
That means that I have to open the voting thread around that time. Won't be able to mostly, but I can do it tomorrow for the May contest. :)

And Rukaio Alter wins for a second month in a row! Whoo boy! This is gonna go to his head.

But it was a wonderfully funny twist. Loved it... and I did vote for it!

Congrats and I voted for you Rukaio!  my other three votes went to

The Hunt for Silver-Tongue by SJ Budd
Good Dog by Jmack
The Skinner by ArcaneArtsVelho

I just want to say I found Jmack story really creepy reminded me of Ravenloft short stories

Congratulations, Rukaio! Really good job. You got my first vote.

And thank you, Eclipse, for your vote.  :)

Congratulations Rukaio!
I didn't vote for you, but then again, all the stories submitted this month were very good competition :)

Congratulations once again Rukaio.  Humour like that can be difficult to pull off, especially in such a short space but it worked wonderfully.  Another great month from everyone else too so good to see everyone getting some good recognition - really difficult to pick favourites from it.

You should have voted 4 times ;)

Congrats Rukaio!
I'll admit I didn't vote for you, it's not really my style, but I was like Clint, with 2 stories in the top 3 and then 2 with very few votes.

I wanted to, but I ended up going back and forth between three different stories for my fourth spot, so I ended up leaving it blank.

Whoaaaa.... 3rd equal with Jmack and Carter? I did not see that one coming. Thanks everyone for your votes! I'm glad the horror didn't put y'all off!

I'm happy for Rukaio and D_Bates. It's good work! David's story was definitely a quality twist. Votes for you two and Jmack's and Raptori's.
I'm rather surprised though at Saurus and Raptori's result, to me it was the biggest surprise as a twist, but I can also see how it could be hard to capture everyone's interest with a race!

Anyway, shall have fun with critics today! Will we have a critic thread?

Congrats Rukaio!  :) I managed to vote for the winner, again, so I think I should start placing some bets or something  :P Also loved the story by @Idlewilder, but as has been said, the overall quality was great!

Oh yeah, two in a row baby! And I'm not even a writing contest regular yet, (although I should become one with my entry to this month's contest). I'm kinda curious to see if I can go three for three now (although May was a very strong month this time around so I won't be too surprised if I lose). But whatever happens, I shall appreciate my victory here and accept my new self-appointed title of GOD EMPEROR OF THE WRITING CONTEST!!!

What? I told you this stuff would go to my head.

(Seriously though, big thanks to everyone who voted and not just the people who voted for me. Let's try and make this next month a great one too)
