Cover Reveal & Extract for ‘LOST BOY’ by CHRISTINA HENRY
If you’ve been keeping up with the recent retellings of Alice by Christina Henry, you will surely be excited to hear that she is set to release a new version of Peter Pan. For those who haven’t picked up Alice or it’s sequel The Red Queen yet, much of the story matches the original (the same white rabbit leads Alice on her journey, for example), but it’s a trip that’s far darker and far more disturbing than Carroll’s original tale. It’s filled with examples of violence, menace, exploitation and abuse; and yet there’s a compulsive, edge of your seat story that is full of imagination.
The UK cover for Alice was incredible (find it and see!), so when we were offered to reveal the cover for Lost Boy we jumped at the chance. Here it it:
Just like Alice: perfect, right? It has that same abstract style which is so well suited for a novel that’s equal parts dark, strange and imaginative.
As if that’s not enough, we’ve got a short extract for you, just so you can see exactly why this novel IS your thing. Give this a read:
Here’s all the details we currently have for LOST BOY, which publishes 4th July 2017 from Titan Books:
There is one version of my story that everyone knows. And then there is the truth.
Once I loved a boy called Peter Pan.
Peter brought me to his island because there were no rules and no grownups to make us mind. He brought boys from the Other Place to join in the fun, but Peter’s idea of fun is sharper than a pirate’s sword. He wants always to be that shining sun that we all revolve around. He’ll do anything to be that sun. Peter promised we would all be young and happy forever. Peter will say I’m a villain, that I wronged him, that I never was his friend.
Christina Henry is the author of the national bestselling BLACK WINGS series (BLACK WINGS, BLACK NIGHT, BLACK HOWL, BLACK LAMENT, BLACK CITY, BLACK HEART and BLACK SPRING) and the two CHRONICLES OF ALICE books, ALICE and RED QUEEN. She enjoys running long distances, reading anything she can get her hands on and watching movies with samurai, zombies and/or subtitles in her spare time. She lives in Chicago with her husband and son.
The book will be available to buy from all good online and brick bookshops from 4th July 2017.
