Harper Voyager’s 20th Anniversary Documentary

Harper Voyager is one of the UK’s finest publishers. Need proof to support that statement? Well, look no further than the master works of Mark Lawrence, Robin Hobb, George R.R. Martin, Raymond E. Feist, Kim Harrison, David Eddings, Joe Abercrombie, Guy Gavriel Kay and Peter V Brett that they’ve published over the course of the past two decades.

Yes, that’s right: two decades. This year marks Harper Voyager’s 20th anniversary.

That’s 20 years that the publishing company has been providing books like Game of Thrones, Prince of Thorns, Magician and Assassin’s Apprentice – books that have shaped tastes of readers and, therefore, changed the direction of Fantasy literature. It shouldn’t be overlooked the effect that Voyager’s list has had on the World’s market. Many of us Fantasy readers feel that the Fantasy of today marks a new golden age, better than any that came before, and Jane Johnson and her team have really helped get us here.

To celebrate their 20 years Harper Voyager have decided to give US a gift (I’m not sure that’s how things are meant to work?). It’s a 13 minute video of all our favourite authors – including many of those we mentioned above – and publishing extraordinaire Jane Johnson talking about Harper Voyager’s journey and how everyone fits into it.

Be sure to check it out below and be sure to use the hashtag #Voyager20 to wish them a happy birthday 🙂

Oh, and as a funny aside, I was watching it with captions on… turns out Youtube REALLY doesn’t get Peter Newman’s West Country accent (which I share):
