The trailer for season 4 of Game of Thrones is up and available to be enjoyed!

The trailer begins with the deluded King Joffrey celebrating his recent marriage to Margaery Tyrell and declaring that “They know I saved the city, they know I won the war,” before Jaime Lannister tells the truth of it: “The war’s not won.”

The trailer then erupts into action; images of swords, crows, and flames break up various characters’ grim observations of Westeros’s current state, Tyrion eventually rounds things up perfectly with: “If you want justice, you’ve come to the wrong place.”

It seems that the show is looking to make Westeros an even more dangerous place for our characters and a big part of the focus for this season – as in the books – seems to be the opposing directions the Lannisters are moving in and Daenerys Targaryen’s plans to reclaim a powerful position picking up steam.

It begins on HBO in the US on Sunday April 6, with UK fans only having to wait 24 hours before it airs on Sky Atlantic.
